Paros Naxos & Small Cyclades (6-day proposal)
Those two little islands , located just a couple miles far from Mykonos are what we may call paradise on earth !Except the reach history related back to the acient glorious times of the greek civilazation ,they offer the among the most stunning tirquose waters, isolated beaches and untouched by the tourism natural scapes. And sailing is the only way to get to those uninhabitated gems.
Our second day finds us sailing south to Irakleia . On our way a stop at Naxos for swimming and lunch . And by the afternoon we arrive at Irakleia, one of the 4 islands that consist the famous Small Cyclades complex , located in the heart of the Aegean , With just about 150 locals living there round the year , Irakleia promises an authentic experience and a warm welcome like it used to be before the mass tourism effect … Dinner will be ashore where one can explore the traditional village , the few authentic tavernas by the sea and socialize with the locals that are always happy to narrate the story of the place.
On our 3rd day we set sail to the legendary island of Amorgos . The island of Le Grand Bleu , the endless blue , the place that the 1988 drama film directed by Luc Besson were shot and made the island word famous and for a good reason . Steep high mountains across the island , breathtaking sunsets and deep blue crystal clear waters, and a vivid nightlife , Amorgos has to offer it all !Is the place that when you leave , you start planning your return trip !
If one of the small cyclades islands has taken the lead amongst the others , this is Koufonisi by far. And thats where we set sail on our 4th day . More developed than it’s neighbors , but still exclusive , Koufonissi has to offer everything you may ask for . From wild nature ,secluded nudist beaches and tyrqoise waters, to high end fish restaurants ,coctail bars with a sunset view and ofcourse authentic nightlife . The smallets island in size but the most alive , combines a little bit of everything in the way that you just cant have enough . The island has its fanatic groups of travellers , that when they discovered it , they promised themselfs to come bask every year !
On the 5 th day we set sail to the well Known Paros . Back to the civilisation , if one may say so , that’s in a way the feeling when you leave behind the small islands on the way to one of the most famous destinations in Cyclades , Paros. But of course we are on our yacht ,so touristic crowds will not be our thing to worry . First stop for swimming and lunch the Blue Lagoon , the hotspot of the island , the place that cant be missed !After enjoyig snorkelling and puddleboard we sail to Antiparos , where we spend overnight . Antiparos is another gorgeous trending cycladic island , offering great nature and authentic nightlife. Hit the little streets of the town by the marina and see what this little gem has to offer !
On the 6 th day we set sail back to where all this adventure begun , but wait – there’s still the whole day ahead of us .On our way the little uninhabitated island of Didymi , where crystal clear waters call us for the last swimming ,with the view of the iconic lighthouse , the first in Greek country that has been standing there for over 2 centuries! We make our way to Ermoupoli , the capital of Syros and the ”Queen” of the Cyclades. Beautiful neo-classic architecture ,and traditional music culture , along with the spectacular view of the Ano Syros town , this makes the best choice for our last destination , a place to relax , enjoy the atmosphere and reflect on this exciting trip that is about to pass to our memories !
Unfortunatelly , like all good things come to an end , that’s the time to say farewell to ”Pamina Blue” , the yacht that sailed us safely and comfortably for the last week and to the friends that we all made along the cruise. We may meet again and we will keep in touch for sure! For all the things that finish , something new begins ! Take your memories and pictures , and start planning your next sailing trip on the cold winter days that everyone will be looking back to those amazing sunny times in the Cyclades!
*** Wind is the main factor affecting our sailing plan.
